Ravine + Ali | Boone Hall Plantation

My fall 2019 weddings were definitely one of my busiest season this year, which is why it's taken me some time to get these blogs created and going again -- nonetheless, here we are!

Ravine had reached out to me in the interest of a Day-of Coordinator on my birthday -- January 19, 2019. I was so eager to chat with her after hearing she was getting married at the ever-gorgeous, Boone Hall Plantation. After speaking with her about the benefits of hiring me as Month-Of Coordinator (because I do not offer Day-Of) she quickly booked me and the rest was history, there wasn't even the slightest hesitation! I knew we were going to be a great team!

My favorite parts of the conversation, was they were not planning on getting married at the Cotton Dock, where most couples host their reception. They wanted a very "Al Fresco" design behind the main house, near the creek side.

This adventurous couple are traveling connoisseurs and spent most of their time together traveling all over the world. The great outdoors, hiking, and remote escapes are some of their favorite activities.  During their trip to Ibiza, the couple ended up cliff-side by the Balearic Sea at sunset.  Just as the clouds eclipsed the sun, Ali dropped to one knee and asked Ravine to be his wife.  This romantic proposal was a perfect beginning to their engagement journey.

The couple envisioned a timeless Avenue of Oaks ceremony. Boone Hall's Avenue of Oaks is perfect for any size guest count. The rows of oak trees and natural backdrop can make anyones jaw drop. I still pinch myself to think how beautiful and charming, Charleston can be.

Ravine and Ali accented this outdoor landscape with natural wood chairs.  Their ceremony was intimate and sweet.  Before each exchanged their personal vows and married by their home pastor, they shared the most beautiful and special first look together under the Spanish moss trees.

The reception was again inspired by nature.  Selecting this tucked away spot on the far side of Boone Hall’s grounds, was the creek side location. Often times this is perfect for the smaller guest count, but with an ever-gorgeous backdrop. Ravine imagined an "Al Fresco" design with a family style tables to create the most intimate atmosphere for her guests.

The Washington DC couple exchanged I Do's under the oaks, with their close family and friends (and their cat, George), while everyone clapped and praised.

Ravine and Ali’s faith in God was a strong focal point in their reception elements, but was also how they met, through a church community gathering. It made perfect sense to reflect that sense of community in the reception design and their faith in the decor.  Tables were designated by different books of the Bible and a favorite quote was shared on the backside of the table numbers. To complete the over look of the table, the long community like tables were adorned with lanterns and cascading greenery. This design was complete with twinkling bistro lighting strung across in a zig zag motion across the reception area.

The couple decided to build and design their own custom bar, dessert station and picture photo booth throughout the reception space. Guests enjoyed the ice cream sandwiches while they reminisced on photos from their years with Ali and Ravine.

As the couple made their arrival to the celebration, they greeted friends and family joyfully before heading to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife.  The sun began to set as they were completing their first dance, a symbolic way of the journey of their wedding day coming to a close and the beginning of a life long journey of their marriage. Such a sweet moment to conclude their special day.

And Ali's socks were right -- Game. Over.

THIS DAY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT THIS AMAZING VENDOR TEAM!
